Magical Angel Creamy Mami Anime Gets Megumi Spinoff Manga

The Magical Angel Creamy Mami anime is inspiring an official spinoff manga titled Mahō no Tenshi Creamy Mami Fukigen na Ohime-sama (Magical Angel Creamy Mami: Sullen Princess) that will launch on Coamix's manga website Comic Tatan on December 21. Ami Mitsuki (Kumo Ichizoku to Doro Girl) is drawing the manga. New chapters will debut every first and third Friday of the month.
The manga's staff also revealed character visuals for the series.

The manga centers on Megumi Ayase, an idol singer at Mami's talent agency Parthenon Productions. Megumi is the top star of Parthenon Productions, and she is rude to Mami after she joins the agency. Megumi is jealous of Mami and sees herself as Mami's rival. The story follows Megumi's idol life as she tries to be a good senior at work to Mami.
Pierrot's original magical girl anime series Magical Angel Creamy Mami aired from 1983 to 1984, and it inspired various OVAs in the 80s. The story follows 10-year-old Yuu, who gains magical abilities after encountering a spaceship. She uses her newly acquired powers to become a 17-year-old pop star and hopefully win the heart of her crush.
The defunct video streaming and crowdfunding platform Anime Sols held a crowdfunding campaign in 2013 to fund the home video release of the original anime. The company released the series on DVD before closing in 2015.
