The series is in great hands with some top-tier talent. It will be animated by Studio KAI (Uma Musume Pretty Derby) and directed by Munehisa Sakai, the acclaimed director behind hits like Zombie Land Saga and the film One Piece Film Strong World. He's re-teaming with Zombie Land Saga's scriptwriter, Shigeru Murakoshi, which has fans incredibly excited.
So, what’s the story about? It's a gripping post-apocalyptic tale. Years ago, humanity lost a war against giant alien beasts. The pilot of Earth's last giant robot, Tetsuo, survives in an escape pod. When he wakes up eight years later, he returns to a planet that has been completely frozen over in a new ice age. Now, all alone, he must uncover what happened to humanity and fulfill a final promise.
To celebrate the news, the manga's author, Yuhiro Tsujitsugu, also released some awesome commemorative illustrations for fans. If you want to dive in early, the manga is ongoing and available in English from Viz Media.
