The official website for Frontwing's Grisaia:
Phantom Trigger game began streaming the
second promotional video for the game's anime adaptation on Wednesday. The video announces that
the anime will open on
March 15 at Tokyo's EJ Anime Theater Shinjuku and at least three other theaters
in Japan.
Director
and writer Tensho reported on
Twitter that these screenings will be 90 minutes long.
The video also
features Yoshino Nanjō's ending theme song
"Sayonara no Wakusei" (Farewell Planet) and the first preview of Tsubasa Yonaga's voice as Haruto Aoi, as well as a tease of Akane Tomonaga as the popular Thanatos. (The original game did not have a voice
for Haruto Aoi.)
Cast members Maaya Uchida, Kaori Nazuka, and Mikako
Izawa will appear at an advance
screening of the first two episodes at the United Cinema Aqua City Odaiba
theater in Tokyo on January 26. Tickets for this advance screening will go on
sale through the LAWSON Ticket service on December
22 at 3:00 p.m. Japan Time.
The project's Kickstarter campaign page also announced that, due to the anime's delay, the
rewards for crowdfunding backers have been delayed from December 2018 and
February 2019 to the first quarter of 2019. The staff promises that
"distribution of the digital version will take place as soon as it's
finished, with shipping of the anime physicals and merchandising taking place
after that."
The Frontwing &
fyufyu booth at Comic Market 95 will sells the anime's MoviTicke cards with an
exclusive ticket holder bonus for 1,500 yen (about US$13) from December 29 to
December 31.
The franchise's
official Twitter account is holding a present
campaign to give away a copy of the anime's script signed by Maaya Uchida. Fans in Japan can
enter the campaign by following the account and retweeting the campaign's Tweet before December 27 at 3:00 p.m. Japan Time.
The anime's first two episodes were originally slated to
debut simultaneously this year, with region-free Blu-ray Discs slated to ship
by this December. The English dub would be included
on the Blu-ray Disc release — the staff have not said if the inclusion of the dub would
lead to a delay in the release. Each episode was originally planned to be 60
minutes long and would adapt one volume of the original visual novel.
The anime's
cast includes:
·
Toa Yukinari as Ichiru Sengoku
·
Tomoe Oumi as Nogami
·
Haruka Kitagaito as Izumi Yamamoto
·
Sarah Emi Bridcutt as Choco & Vanilla
Inagaki
·
Shou Sudou as Chihiro Ukawa
Frontwing's Kickstarter campaign
for the anime ended in September with US$109,754. The project
surpassed its original goal of US$100,000 earlier that month to fund the anime.
The campaign had 720 backers, more than the minimum 700 needed for the English dub stretch goal.

scriptwriter Yoshikazu Kuwashima wrote the lyrics for both
theme songs, and Grisaia series
theme song composer Hitoshi Fujima (Elements
Garden) returned to compose the songs. The CD singles for both
songs will go on sale on March 13.
Tensho's previous directorial credits include Kinmoza! Kiniro + Mosaic and its sequel, all
three Grisaia anime

Fruit of Grisaia, The
Labyrinth of Grisaia, The
Eden of Grisaia), and both seasons of Rewrite. He has also done animation and character
design under the name Motoki Tanaka.
Frontwing released the first two volumes of the game both in
Japanese and with English text for PC in April 2017. "Volume 5" of
the game launched in Japan and in English on July 27.
Video game and
visual novel translation company Sekai Project launched Frontwing's The Fruit of Grisaia on Steam in 2015 after meeting its Kickstarter goal
for a Western release of the game trilogy. Frontwing and Sekai
Project have also released other two games, The Labyrinth of Grisaia and The Eden of Grisaia, on Steam. Frontwing released
the The Fruit of
Grisaia bonus episode "The Leisure of Grisaia" on Steam in
May 2016.
