Tsuburaya Productions began
streaming a special crossover promotional video on Saturday for the SSSS.Gridman anime
series and the Ultraman anime
series.
The video features Gridman (voiced by Hikaru Midorikawa) introducing himself and telling Ultraman (voiced by Ryohei Kimura) to remember what his mission is, and that they must carry out their mission. Ultraman says he does not know yet why he fights, but he must fight nonetheless. Ultraman ends the video by saying "Just as you are Gridman," and Gridman responds, "You are Ultraman."

12-episode SSSS.Gridman anime premiered on
October 6. Crunchyroll and Funimation streamed the anime as it aired, and Funimation is
also streaming an English dub for the anime.
Akira Amemiya (Inferno Cop, Ninja
Slayer, earlier 2015 "Denkō Chōjin Gridman boy invent great
hero" short) directed the collaboration between the anime Studio Trigger and Tsuburaya Productions —
the creator of the Ultraman franchise
and the original 1993-1994 live-action tokusatsu (special-effects) series Denkō Chōjin Gridman. Keiichi Hasegawa (Rage of Bahamut Genesis, 009-1:
The End of the Beginning, Zoids) wrote the scripts.
The anime of Eiichi Shimizu and Tomohiro Shimoguchi's Ultraman manga will premiere globally on Netflix on April 1.
