The official website for the television anime adaptation of Koyoharu Gotouge's Demon
Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba manga
began streaming a commercial on Tuesday. (Note: The anime's official
website is streaming the commercial, but the video is region-locked to Japan. A
region-free version is below.)
The anime will premiere in April 2019 and will air on a total of 20
channels including Tokyo MX, Gunma TV, Tochigi TV, and BS11.
Natsuki Hanae stars
in the show as Tanjirō Kamado (pictured left in below image), and Akari
Kitō costars as Nezuko Kamado (right).
Other
cast members include:
Hiro Shimono as Zenitsu Agatsuma, a member of the Demon Killing Corps
alongside Tanjirō
Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as
Inosuke Hashibira, a member of the Demon Killing Corps alongside Tanjirō
Takahiro Sakurai as
Giyū Tomioka, the pillar of the Demon Killing Corps
Haruo Sotozaki (Tales of Zestiria the X, Tales
of Symphonia the Animation) is directing the anime at ufotable(Fate/Zero, Kara
no Kyoukai, Katsugeki: Touken Ranbu). ufotable is also
credited for the scripts. Akira Matsushima (Maria Watches Over Us, Tales
of Zestiria the X) is the character designer, with Miyuki
Sato, Yōko Kajiyama, and Mika
Kikuchi serving as sub-character designers. Yuki
Kajiura (Sword
Art Online, Fate/Zero, Madoka Magica) and Gō
Shiina (Tales
of Zestiria the X, Jūni Taisen: Zodiac War, God
Eater) are composing the music. Hikaru
Kondo is producing the series.
Viz Media is publishing the manga digitally and in print, and it
describes series:
Since ancient times, rumors have abounded of man-eating demons
lurking in the woods. Because of this, the local townsfolk never venture
outside at night. Legend has it that a demon slayer also roams the night,
hunting down these bloodthirsty demons. For young Tanjiro, these rumors will
soon to become his harsh reality…
The manga
debuted in Shueisha's Weekly
Shonen Jump magazine in February 2016, and Shueisha published
the manga's 13th volume on November 2. The 14th volume will ship on January 4.
The manga is
also getting a novel that will ship in Japan on February 4.
