Muse Malaysia announced on Wednesday that it will add the KenIchi the Mightiest Disciple anime, with the first episode available on Thursday at 9:00 p.m. GMT +8, with new episodes daily at the same time slot.
In this martial-arts comedy series, Kenichi is an ordinary student who has been bullied all through high school. Then a girl convinces him to join her dojo and become a disciple of many martial arts styles. Director Hajime Kamegaki (Naruto Shippūden, Fushigi Yuugi) and the animators of TMS Entertainment adapted Shun Matsuena's manga of the same name, and the anime ran in Japan from October of 2006 to September of 2007.
Matsuena's manga ran in Shonen Sunday from 2002 to 2014. The manga also inspired a series of original video anime episodes that eventually ran on Japanese television.
