The highly anticipated anime adaptation of Kei Urana's dark fantasy manga, Gachiakuta, is poised for a major global debut. In a significant move for international fans, Crunchyroll has announced it will stream a same-day English dub of the series starting on July 6, 2025. This simultaneous release ensures that both subtitled and dubbed audiences can experience the action from day one, aligning with the anime's premiere on CBC, TBS, and 26 other channels in Japan.
To build anticipation, Crunchyroll has released a dynamic trailer for the English version, offering a first listen to its principal voice cast. The English dub stars Bryson Baugus (known for Haikyuu!!, The Quintessential Quintuplets) in the lead role of Rudo. He is joined by a talented lineup including Christopher Wehkamp (My Hero Academia) as the formidable Enjin, Corey Wilder as the enigmatic Zanka, Katie Caruso as Riyo, Zeno Robinson (Demon Slayer) as Jabber, and veteran voice actor John
Burgmeier (Dragon Ball Z) as Regto.
Well before the official streaming launch, Gachiakuta will kick off a massive promotional tour titled the "Gachiakuta World Takeover." This global event will feature advanced screenings of the first two episodes in major cities across the world. The tour begins in the United States at Anime Expo in Los Angeles on July 4 at 10:00 a.m. PDT, where manga creator Kei Urana and graffiti designer Hideyoshi Ando will attend alongside producer Naoki Amano.

The production is helmed by the acclaimed animation studio BONES, celebrated for its work on iconic series like My Hero Academia, Mob Psycho 100, and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. The series is directed by Fumihiko Suganuma, with the masterful Hiroshi Seko, known for his scriptwriting on Chainsaw Man, Vinland Saga, and Jujutsu Kaisen, managing the series composition. Character designs are provided by Satoshi Ishino (Date A Live), and the score is composed by the renowned Taku Iwasaki (Bungo Stray Dogs).
The original Japanese cast features Aoi Ichikawa as Rudo, Katsuyuki Konishi as Enjin, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Zanka, and Yumiri Hanamori as Riyo.
Gachiakuta plunges viewers into a harsh dystopian world. The story follows Rudo, a resident of the slums in a floating city where the wealthy discard their garbage—and occasionally people—into a vast abyss below. After being falsely convicted of murder, Rudo is exiled into this chasm, known as the Pit. Down on the surface, he discovers a world teeming with vicious monsters bred from the world's refuse. To survive, uncover the truth behind his conviction, and exact revenge, Rudo must join the "Cleaners," a group that battles these trash beasts using extraordinary powers.
The original manga by Kei Urana, with graffiti design by Hideyoshi Ando, began serialization in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine in February 2022 and continues to be a popular series.
